Located about 40 miles from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Knoxville is known as the home of the late Alex Haley, author of "Roots." Knoxville has some fun, romantic things to do for eloping couples, including taking a ride on the Three Rivers Rambler, a steam train which follows the Tennessee River. The train is closed during the summer, but, if you're considering an elopement wedding during the months of September and October, do plan taking their Autumn Steam Trains tour for a show of wonderful Fall colors.
