First up is the Inn on Lake Granbury, which is located on Lake Granbury, in the Upper Hill Country, about an hour southwest of Dallas/Fort Worth. There you'll find 103 miles of shoreline, wineries, and the town of Granbury with its historic downtown square and Opera House Theatre. The Inn on Lake Granbury specializes in weddings for just the two of you, on up to larger weddings of 150 guests.

We like that they offer a couple elopement packages: 1) a "Sweetheart" Elopement Package for just the bride and groom, which includes one night's accommodations, officiant and small wedding cake and 2) the "Celebration" Elopement Package for up to 24 guests, which is designed as a casual stand-up ceremony with an appetizer reception. Another wedding venue in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area which offers an elopement package is the MD Resort, located just 25 minutes northwest of downtown Fort Worth. The MD Resort is a 37-acre guest ranch-style western resort featuring several wedding sites to choose from, including a garden wedding, gazebo wedding and western barn wedding site. If searching for an inexpensive elopement package in a venue convenient to Dallas/Ft. Worth, you may also want to consider the Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast in Brownwood, Texas, just a couple hours southwest of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. The Star of Texas is a 20-acres bed & breakfast located on the Texas Wine Trail and featured on Yahoo Travel as one of "America's Coziest B&Bs." You will absolutely flip at the price of their couple's-only "Elopement for 2" package - $189! (August, 2011 prices) That's right. $189 will get you:

• Vow ceremony by Chaplain in the location of your choice on the property

• Photos burned to a CD for you to use as you like
• Cake and Punch for 2

Wedding sites on the Start of Texas property include the garden, their own Texas Star Garden Chapel, or any secluded spot on their 20-acre property.  If you choose to stay there for your honeymoon (and, you should) there are also several interesting lodging choices, including the Wildrose Retreat featuring a private porch and hot tub; and the Tuscany Suite, with Jacuzzi bath for two and a balcony that overlooks the lily pond. Houston Area

For couples searching for elopement packages in the Houston area, we've found several you may want to consider.

Couples wanting to get married on a Texas ranch will love BlissWood Bed & Breakfast 50 miles west of Houston. BlissWood is a 650-acre working ranch featuring a gazebo overlooking Enchanted Lake. Come on, Enchanted Lake? You gotta love that, right? And, no, you won't be staying in some rustic bunkhouse. Guests have their choice of one of the many turn-of-the-century homes and cabins located on the ranch, each one furnished with antiques of their era. Just FYI, but if it was up to me, I'd go with the Enchanted Cabin or the Lanai House, which is a one-bedroom house in a tropical setting overlooking a waterfall and pond. That way you get the best of both worlds, a honeymoon on a Texas ranch which feels like you're honeymooning in the tropics.

While BlissWood does have a show barn which can accommodate up to 200 guests for weddings and receptions, they also cater to the eloping couple by offering an Elopement Package for just the two of you, or an Intimate Wedding Package for the two of you and up to 6 guests. You may also want to consider Heather's Glen, an outdoor garden and wedding chapel facility located in Conroe Texas, just 20 miles north of Houston. Heather's Glen is a full-service wedding facility which includes elopement packages in their list of services. For elopement ceremonies you can have your wedding in their garden gazebo surrounded by flowerbeds, fountains and waterfalls. They offer 3 elopement packages:

Hidden Oaks Gardens and Events is another venue which specializes in weddings. A large plantation-style home set on 1 ½ acres, Hidden Oaks features landscaped gardens as well as an indoor parlor for your wedding. Their Elopement Package is priced at $650 (as of 2011) and includes:

San Antonio Area

Looking for an elopement package in the San Antonio area? How about a Victorian inn located just a few blocks from the famous San Antonio Riverwalk? Alamo Street Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast is one such place. Built in the late 1800s and originally on the corner of West Houston and Rosillo Streets, the Alamo Street Victorian Inn has had a rather interesting past.
